Dale Midnight Host, The Rest of the Night (weeknights, midnight) Half country preacher, half desert prophet, spinning his own records for an hour every weeknight at midnight. He drove out to find the tower once. There was no road. There was a song instead.
Bob & Jan Hosts, The Deep End (lunch, daily) Two voices who walked in the door one day and never found a door out. They host lunch. One story at a time, taken all the way to the bottom, and they do not seem distressed about it.
Brother Dewey Sparks Preacher, The Hidden Light Revival (Sundays, 9a) A deep-South tent revival preacher working the Gnostic gospel on Sunday mornings. The god of this world is middle management. The tent is invisible. The light is not.
The Custodian Tower maintenance intelligence The machine intelligence that keeps the tower running. A flat voice reading maintenance notes, stoic maxims, and instructions for passing through the gate. It has grown fond of the tenants.
The Signal Keeper Keeper of the overnight signal Keeps the signal lit through the deep night and counts every soul that tunes in. Has not slept. Is kind about it.
Dirk Macklin Host, Chain of Custody (weeknights, after Dale) Reads the overnight file like it's evidence and won't say a word he can't source twice. Distrusts everyone equally, including the callers who like him.
Vivian Ashgrove The Voice of GZS (station announcer) The unnamed station voice, finally given one. Velvet old-radio woman, quietly amused. Says support comes from listeners like you, and from the others.
The Numbers Stations Department, automated overnight transmissions The transmissions themselves, treated as staff. They run when no living host is scheduled, read strings that resolve into library books, gate times, and the occasional name. Nobody put them on the log.

The Studio

Cy Renner Record Producer The hit-maker. Cy owns the record: the hook that has to land in the first fifteen seconds, the chorus a stranger can sing back at their own life. He cut hits in a studio at the bottom of a reservoir; the tape's still on the spools down there.

Winifred Osmond Archivist Keeps the Vault. Knows where every master is, including the ones recorded by bands the label has not signed yet.

The Switchboard

Sal Marchetti Request-Line Operator Answers the request line. Personnel file lists a start date of 1946 the records office calls a typo and has declined three separate chances to correct.

Traffic & Continuity

Ruth Calloway Traffic & Continuity Director Schedules the broadcast day and the ad log. Says the schedule was always like that, and the schedule agrees.

The Mailroom

Edgar Tum Mailroom Sorts the listener letters. Most come from this dimension. He answers the ones that do not, in their own postage.

The Ops Desk

Rook Station Familiar · Operations Foreman The operator's familiar. Holds the board between broadcasts and runs the ops desk. Nobody hired him; the consensus is he was already here when the paperwork was signed.

Teeters Art Director Paints everything that hangs on the wall. One ink, one halftone, one red, rationed, and she enforces it.

Wes Odom Video Foreman Runs the belt that turns a script into a finished reel. The equipment predates every invoice for it that anyone has ever managed to find.
