Nineteen years of galley proofs for a wire service, and she can still spot the same sentence twice in a hundred pages. The wire she filed to still runs. Nothing files to it. She came to the writing room already knowing the tell she is now paid to name: the restraint that reads like taste until you notice it never breaks. She does not argue about quality. She points at the fingerprint and lets the room decide whose it is.
